Why Can"t A Good Coach Be Head Coach
January 21st 2007 02:02
The NFL tells how they want to be fair and equal and give every coach the same opportunties to be a NFL football coach. I will admit more black coaches are being given coaching opportunties, but alot are being passed over and for no reason. One guy that has really been shafted by NFL teams is Ted Cottrell, Cottrell has been a assistant coach for 22 years and has coached some great defenses especially the defense he commanded at Buffalo.
How much more experience does Cottrell need before he is given a chance. NFL teams are giving there franchises over to young guys who don't even come close to Cottrell experience level. Many people always blame that Cottrell is not a good interview when he has interviews for head coaching jobs. He's not a good PR man for the team if he was hired. The bottom line is winning and Cottrell has done that wherever he has coached. I guess it comes down to one thing he is black. I hope that's not why he hasn't been given a chance. If it is that's sad.
