Tyler Smith Reportably Dismissed From Vols
ESPN is reporting that both guns that were found in a rental car last week belong to Tennessee basketball senior captain Tyler Smith. Tennessee had suspended all four players who were traveling back Nashville after a weekend party. I hate to see this happen but the law is the law. One of the guns had the serial number filed off so federal charges may stll be possible
. According to the local media, Tyler has always been a pleasant person who never turned down interviews. On the court he has always been unselfish and would always give his teammates credit for wins.
Now just a few days after the incident the billboards with his face are gone and his name is gone from the Wooden List and from the memories of NBA scouts.
The idea that you need a gun to get street cred in Knoxville, TN is dumb. The NBA thugs and the rap culture are destroying lives of good talented student athletes and someone, hopefullr Commisioner Stern will put a stop to it.
Tyler, who lost his father two years ago, could have been drafted by the NBA or at the very least played overseas for decent money. Now he has no scholarship and his chances of playing professionally are in jeopardy.
All of that for a couple of guns and some street cred.
