Tennessee vs USC
Lane Kiffin says that USC is the best school in college football and that Tennessee is in the top 15. Is that a fact or opinion? I don't think anyone can argue that they both deserve to be included in the discussion of the most elite college programs.
Here are a few side by side comparisons:
Forbes ranks the most valuable football programs by net worth Tennessee comes in 13th with an estimated value of 78 million USC is 15th at 68 million.
Tennessee has 776 wins versus USC's 765
Tennessee has 1 BCS championship USC has 1
Tennessee had 37 players in the NFL at the start of the 2009 season USC had 36
Neyland Stadium(UT) seats about 10k more than the Coliseum(USC)
I could find no definitive winner when it came to practice faclities. I have heard ex Tennessee players mention that the Vols have better facilities than some NFL teams, but I'm sure USC does also.
The biggest difference between the two may be in recruiting, Tennessee is forced to go all over the country where at USC you could probably visit a recruit and be home for dinner.
As for coaches there is no doubt that I would rather have Coach Dooley and the staff he is bringing to Tennessee. I don't think we have to worry about recruiting problems or late night DUI's with him.
