Owls Go Bowling For Only Third Time
Congrats to the Temple Owls for earning a bid to the EagleBank Bowl. The Owls will either face UCLA or Army in the December 29th game to be played in Washington D.C.
If Army beats Navy this Saturday then the Owls will face the Cadets, if Navy wins then the Bruins from UCLA will make the cross country journey.
The Owls are one and one in their bowl history including a 14-20 loss to Tulane in the 1934 Sugar Bowl and a 28-17 win over California in the 1979 Garden State Bowl.
This is one of the reasons why I love the bowl system so much. The parades are fun to watch and it gives schools beyond the top sixteen BCS schools a chance to end their season on a high note. Especially a team like the Owls who have been waiting thirty years to go bowling again.
