One Handed Player Gets D-1 Scholarship

It would have been easy for Kevin Laue to use his disability as an excuse to not reach his full potential. The 6-10 basketball star, whose left arm's circulation was cut off by the umbilical cord at birth, averaged ten points and five rebounds for Fork Union Military in Virginia last year. Manhattan's coach, Barry Rohrssen, who extended the offer, remarked that if he was going to take a chance on a player he would rather do it with someone who has a work ethic like Laue. Here's to Manhattan for taking a chance on a deserving player and also to Kevin for teaching the rest of us to not let anything get in the way of our dreams.
