Here is what I know for sure. Nebraska is heading to the Big-10 and Colorado is going to the PAC-10. Everything else is speculation at this point.
The main reason for the shuffling is of course money. The SEC started this when they split into two divisions and had a championship game. Many conferences saw the money that an extra game would provide. It got worse when the BIG-10 started their own network and the downward spiral continue with the SEC's contract with ESPN.
Don't let anyone fool you it is not about academics or tradition it is about money. College football is the cash cow for many universities. They depend on it to pay for the non-revenue producing sports.
Eventually we will have four or five super conferences and the schools on the outside will either fade away or be forced to step down to a lower division.
