Jeff Samardzija Decides To Change Sports
January 20th 2007 00:01
Jeff Samardzija is considered a first round pick in the upcoming NFL draft so why would he change sports. The Chicago Cubs signed him to a 5 year 10 million dollar contract. he has pitched some minor league starts for the Cubs with a ERA less than three. Samardzija was a excellent football player at Notre Dame, so this does come as a shock to alot of people.
For me not really as many players switch sports all during there high school days. What is different is you hardly see a NFL prospect change his sport and leave alot of money on the table. He loves what he's doing in the baseball arena and for most that's all that really counts. If Samardzija is happy what are we to judge what he does or what he plays. According to Samardzija he has no plans of returning to football. I guess we were the lucky ones as we seen him play football and now we can follow his baseball career.
