Maybe its because people just prefer Budweiser over Amp but the gold that used to be Dale Earnhardt Jr. seems to be turning to lead. For years Junior's merchandise was far and away the most popular but lately former bad boy Tony Stewart's stuff is leading the way.

QVC, Nascar.com, and track venders are all reporting down sales for Earnhardt this year. In a way I feel bad for the guy having to live up to his great father's name but for years I have heard rumors that "Little E" didn't want to put the time into research and testing.


I think this is far more common in sports than gets reported. Kyle Petty never came close to King Richard's greatness and few siblings are able to equal their parent's feats. I guess it takes more than great genes to become successful sometimes.
