Congrats To The Alabama Women's Rowing Team

The Alabama women's rowing team, not only closed out a successful season this past May, they were also the only men's or women's program at the university not named in the NCAA's report on widespread abuses by athletes. All fifteen other sports had at least one athlete who had illegally obtained free textbooks for other students.
The NCAA has placed all of the programs, including rowing on three years probation. The football team also had to vacate 21 wins. By vacating, the wins go away but their opponents are not credited with a win and Alabama will not be credited with a loss.
This is not the first time that the university, who in my opinion should have long ago received the NCAA's "death penalty" for their lack of institutional control. It seems that every five years or so the school gets a slap on the wrist for such serious violations as players taking money from boosters to outright buying players from high school coaches.
It's a shame that the good people of Alabama, who are great sports fans, have to endure the university's lack of leadership.
