Calling All Peyton Manning Haters
This isn't new as it started in college with "He can't beat Florida" and continued during the Heisman campaign with "He pads his stats against weak teams". The latter was laughable as Tennessee had one of the top 5 toughest schedules in the country the year that Charles Woodson beat him for the award that's given tocollege football's best player. The media was the one who first built him up and then led the charge in bringing him down.
In the pros it was first, "He can't beat the Patriots" and later "He can't win the big games"
After he won the Super Bowl the talk shifted to "Until he wins as many as Montana or Brady he can't be in the discussion for the best ever."
So what if he does win two more championships, then will it be "Well he has never won a Super Bowl as a coach"?
I think the man is a class act and if not the best one of the top three quarterbacks of all time. I can't recall one controversial thing that he has ever muttered. Hequietly gives thousands to charities and generally gives credit to teammates in wins and the opposing team in losses.
Now its possible that being a Vols and Colts fan, I may be biased. This is why I am willing to take a huge risk and do something that I have never done before!
