The United States got off to a fast start with a gold and a bronze medal in the women's mogul. Apolo Ohno, with a silver in the 1500m, tied fellow American Bonnie Blair as the most decorated U.S. Winter Olympian. He can break her record next Saturday in the 1000m.
Canadian Jennfier Heil made the home crowd cheer with a silver in the women's mogul.
